digitally convergent technologies refers to the synergistic of two previously separate thanks to modern digital technology. the online media industries are specialised industries. in this essay i shall argue that industries and producers extensively use and abuse DCT to shape media products to make profit in order to minimise risk and maximise profit.i shall look at zoella an online influencer and blogger who appeals to young middle class women and attitude online an online gay website that targets young working class gay men.
both websites use a standard web 2.0 to maximise profit- simple and basic. there is an extensive use of clickbait ads, it is a guaranteed way to use digitally convergent technology to make money.
